ST LOUIS -- The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission (MHTC) awarded several  St. Louis projects at its October meeting. Approximately $5.61 million was awarded to contractors for various roadway improvement projects. All contracts were awarded to the lowest bidder. The projects include:

• Route M in Jefferson County- This project consists of intersection improvements at the intersections of Route M and Caitlin Drive, Route 141 at Old Missouri State Road, and Route 30 at Main Drive/Redwood Drive. This project was awarded to Gerstner Electric, Inc. (Fenton, MO) for $134,296.20. This project is expected to begin in November 2009 and should be completed by August 2010.

• Route 94 in St. Charles County- This project consists of installation of traffic control devices and networking systems at Route 94 from 5^th Street to Kingshighway, Route 94 at Interstate 70 to Route 364, and Route 94 and Jungs Station Road to Route D. This project was awarded to Gerstner Electric, Inc. (Fenton, MO) for $1,186,916.72. This project is expected to begin in January 2010 and should be completed by September 2010.

• Route 141 in St. Louis County- This project consists of installation of traffic control devices and networking systems on Route 141 from Gravois Bluffs Road to Arnold Church Road, and on Route 141 from north of Interstate 64 to Route 61/67. This project was awarded to Gerstner Electric, Inc. (Fenton, MO) for $1,520,301.16. This project is expected to begin in November 2009 and should be completed by November 2010.

• Route 110 and Route 30 in Jefferson County- This project consists of rehabilitation of three bridges on Route 110 at Route 67, Route E at Joachim Creek and Route W at Big River. The westbound lanes of Route 30 over Heads Creek will also undergo bridge rehabilitation. This is south of the intersection of Route PP to north of the intersection of Routes W and MM near House Springs. This project was awarded to X-L Contracting, Inc. (St. Peters, MO) for $2,776,469.95. This project is expected to begin in December 2009 and should be completed by November 2010.
