Commission Awards Local Projects At Dec. 9 Meeting
ST LOUIS -- The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission (MHTC) awarded several projects at its December 9 meeting. Approximately $30 million was awarded to contractors for various roadway improvement projects. All contracts were awarded to the lowest bidder. The projects include:
  • I-64 at Market St. and at Compton – Replace bridges. Awarded to Fred Weber, Inc. (Maryland Heights, MO) for $12.4 million. This project is expected to begin in spring 2006 and should be complete in late 2006.

  • I-270 from I-70 to Coldwater Creek – Resurface driving lanes and shoulders on I-270 and on the ramps at Rte. 67. Awarded to Pace Construction Company (St. Louis, MO) for $7.8 million. This project is expected to begin in spring 2006 and should be complete in fall 2006.

  • I-255 at the Jefferson Barracks Bridge – Rehabilitate bridge. Awarded to St. Louis Bridge Construction Company (Arnold, MO) for $6.4 million. This project is expected to begin in early 2006 and should be complete in fall 2006.

  • I-70 at Rte. 40/61 in Wentzville – Repair bridge surfaces, paint bridges and replace guardrail. Awarded to Millstone Bangert, Inc. (St. Charles, MO) for $1.9 million. This project is expected to begin in early 2006 and should be complete in summer 2006.

  • Various intersections on Rte. 21, Rte. 30 and Rte. 109 in St. Louis County – Replace signal bulbs. Awarded to Gerstner Electric Inc. (Fenton, MO) for $79,118. This project is expected to begin in early 2006 and should be complete in spring 2006.

  • Rte. 340 (Olive Blvd.) from Rte. 100 (Manchester Rd.) to west of I-64 – Resurface driving lanes and shoulders. Amendment 3 Project. Awarded to Pace Construction Company (St. Louis, MO) for $1.9 million. This project is expected to begin in spring 2006 and should be complete in late 2006.
