ST LOUIS -- The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission (MHTC) awarded several projects at its October 14 meeting. Approximately $8.8 million was awarded to contractors for various roadway improvement projects. All contracts were awarded to the lowest bidder. The projects include:

• I-64/Rte. 40 (eastbound) at the Vandeventer overpass – Rehabilitate bridge (painting, expansion joints, and driving surface). Awarded to Millstone Bangert, Inc. (St. Charles, MO) for $2.5 million. Construction is expected to begin in fall 2005 and be complete in 2006.
• Rte. 366 (Watson Rd.) at Elm Ave. and Watson Rd. – Improve traffic signals and highway lighting. Awarded to Gerstner Electric Inc. (Fenton, MO) for $173,389. Construction is expected to begin in fall 2005 and be complete in 2006.
• I-44 from the I-55 on-ramp at Lafayette to Park Ave. – Repair pavement and resurface driving lanes and shoulders. Awarded to Pace Construction Company (St. Louis, MO) for $1.9 million. This project is expected to begin in November and should be complete in fall 2006.
• I-64/Rte. 40 from east of Mason Rd. to west of the I-270 interchange – Remove and replace soundwall panels. Awarded to Kozeny-Wagner, Inc. (Arnold, MO) for $185,423. This project is expected to begin in late 2005 and should be complete in early spring 2006.
• Rte. 141 from south of Rte. 100 to south of I-44 near Valley Park – Diamond grind and repair pavement. Awarded to Fred Weber, Inc. (Maryland Heights, MO) for $595,459. This project is expected to begin in late 2005 and should be complete in late fall 2006. Amendment 3 Project

These two projects were awarded to Krupp Construction, Inc. (Ellisville, MO) for $3.5 million. These projects are expected to begin in late 2005 and should be complete in late fall 2006. Amendment 3 Projects

• Rte. 141 from south of Rte. AB (Ladue Rd.) to south of Rte. HH (Clayton Rd.) - Diamond grind and repair pavement and repair shoulders.
• I-64/Rte. 40 from Rte. 340 (Olive Blvd.) to east of I-270 - Diamond grind and repair pavement and resurface driving lanes and shoulders.
