ST LOUIS -- The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission (MHTC) awarded more Amendment 3 projects at its September 9 meeting. More than $8 million in Amendment 3 projects was awarded, which is part of MoDOT’s "Smoother, Safer, Sooner" initiative. The projects include:
* Rte. 340 (Olive Blvd.) from River Valley Dr. to Woodcrest Executive Dr. in Creve Coeur – Resurface. Awarded to N.B. West Contracting Company (Brentwood, MO) for $800,817. The project is expected to begin in fall 2005 and should be complete by fall 2006.
* I-270 from I-255 to the Chain of Rocks Bridge – Repair pavement (diamond grinding). Awarded to Kozeny-Wagner, Inc. (St. Louis, MO) for $1.7 million. The project is expected to begin in fall 2005 and should be complete by fall 2006.
* Rte. 61/67 from north of Rte. Z in Pevely to Rte. A in Festus/Crystal City – Repair and resurface shoulders. Awarded to Ford Asphalt Co., Inc. (Bridgeton, MO) for $805,007. The project is expected to begin in fall 2005 and should be complete by fall 2006.
* I-70 from the Warren County line to Pearce Blvd. in Wentzville – Resurfacing and striping. Awarded to N.B. West Contracting Company (Brentwood, MO) for $858,250. The project is expected to begin in fall 2005 and should be complete by fall 2006.
* Rte. 100 From west of Rte. 141 to east of Barrett Station Rd. and from Ballas Rd. to Lindbergh Blvd. – Resurfacing and striping. Awarded to N.B. West Contracting Company (Brentwood, MO) for $1.2 million. The project is expected to begin in fall 2005 and should be complete by fall 2006.
* I-70 from west of I-270 to west of Rte. 67 (St. Louis County) and from Lake St. Louis to intersection of Rte. 94 (St. Charles County) – Repair pavement (diamond grinding) and striping. Awarded to Penhall Company (Anaheim, CA) for $1.3 million. The project is expected to begin in fall 2005 and should be complete by fall 2006.
* Rte. 100 from Rte. T to Strecker Rd. in Ellisville – Repair pavement (diamond grinding) and repair shoulders. Awarded to N.B. West Contracting Company (Brentwood, MO) for $1.2 million. The project is expected to begin in fall 2005 and should be complete by fall 2006.
* I-70 at I-170 in Berkeley – Resurface driving lanes and shoulders. Awarded to Krupp Construction, Inc. (Ellisville, MO) for $669,368. The project is expected to begin in spring 2006 and should be complete by fall 2006.
* Rte. 67/367 from the Rte. 67/367 interchange to Cinder Rd., and from Elm Grove to I-270 north of St. Louis City – Repair pavement (diamond grinding), resurfacing and striping. Awarded to Gaines Construction, Inc. (Wentzville, MO) for $628,114. The project is expected to begin in fall 2005 and should be complete by fall 2006.

A from Rte. 100 to Chamber Dr. and from Expedition Dr. to north of Ruether Ct. in Washington – Grading, drainage and resurfacing from Rte. 100 to Chamber Dr. and intersection improvements, including new signals, from Expedition Dr. to north of Ruether Ct. Awarded to Unnerstall Construction Company (Pacific, MO) for $1.2 million. The project is expected to begin in late 2005 and should be complete by summer 2006.
