2009 Construction Projects
- Westbound I-44 over the Meramec River – Bridge rehabilitation at the Meramec River bridge west of Lewis Road. Project will start in spring 2009. This job will be done in conjunction with the Lewis Road bridge rehabilitation.
- I-270 ramp project at Rte. 364 (Page Ave.) - Design work is under way for a project to construct a new ramp from northbound I-270 to westbound Rte. 364. This would help alleviate congestion at the interchange, especially during evening rush hour. The interchange is not designed to handle current traffic volumes. Construction is expected to start in summer 2009. Funding for this project was approved by the East-West Gateway Council of Governments in July 2005. The estimated cost for construction is $26 million. This project will also include work on I-270 at Marine. For more information visit the Rte. 364 & I-270 Interchange Improvements page.
- Route 40/I-64 at Spirit Boulevard – construct eastbound ramps. Summer 2009 to late 2009. Drivers can expect temporary lane drops, narrow lanes and occasional ramp closures on this project during night off-peak hours.
- Route D at Westport Drive – Reconstruct the Westport Dr. Bridge. The project began on March 16. Crews will close one side of the bridge at a time and close one lane of traffic in each direction through the reconstruction project. The work on the bridge should be complete in mid-May.
- Route 141 at Old Meramec Station Road – Bridge rehabilitation. The project has started and will be completed in mid June 2009. This work will require the Old Meramec Station Road bridge to be closed for three months. Drivers can use Old Meramec Station Road as a detour.
- Route 40 at Spirit Blvd. – Add ramps from Spirit to Route 40. The project should start in late spring 2009.
- Route D at Ashby – Install audible pedestrian signals, new sidewalk ramps. The project is scheduled to start in spring 2009.
- I-44 at Lewis Road – Bridge rehabilitation. The project will start in spring 2009. This project will be done in conjunction with the rehabilitation of westbound I-44 over the Meramec River.
- I-64 from Mason to Route 141 – Resurfacing. The project should start in summer 2009.
Future Projects
- Rte. 141 Project between Ladue and Olive Blvd. This project is currently not funded. The current preferred alignment would construct Rte. 141 as a six-lane road east of existing Route 141 and would also add two through lanes in each direction along Route 141 between Ladue Road and I-64/Rte. 40. A single point urban interchange is proposed at Olive Boulevard and a single point diamond interchange is proposed at Ladue Road. This project is in MoDOT's long-range plan for 2011 to 2020.
