I-64 and Route 370 – Install traffic sensors and cameras. This project will install intelligent transportation system devices along I-64 from Route K to I-70 and Route 370 from the Missouri River to I-70. Work should begin in summer 2008. There should be minimal impacts to traffic.
Route 40/61 from west of Lake St. Louis Blvd. to east of I-70. Upgrade to interstate. This will eliminate all at-grade crossings and construct a new interchange, with overpass, at Prospect Road. The last signal at Callahan Road has been removed and the Prospect interchange/bridge has opened. Construction continues on the outer road through Fall 2009. Drivers can expect permanent local road closures through the end of the project and occasional lane closures during non-peak traffic times. There should be a moderate impact to traffic.
Route 94 from Route 370 to Route B – Pavement repair, widening and resurfacing. Pavement repair is currently underway. Construction will pushed to start in spring 2009 because of rising asphalt prices. Work will include a turn lane between Little Hills Expressway and Fox Hill Road. Drivers can expect Route 94 in this area to be reduced to a one-lane road, with flaggers, at night during non-peak times for repair and resurfacing work. There may also be shoulder or lane restrictions during the day. There should be moderate impacts to traffic.
