South St. Louis County Update


WHAT'S HAPPENING IN 2008 and 2009?


North Jefferson/South St. Louis County Projects 2007-2009 (1.39 Mb, 1 page)


FUTURE PROJECTS:

  • Signal replacement at 61/67 and Telegraph (Jefferson County)- Replacement of the existing signal. No widening. The project is scheduled to begin in late winter 2008.
  • I-44 South Outer Road from Rudder to Yarnell (St. Louis County)- Resurfacing and shoulder construction. This project is scheduled to begin in late summer 2009.
  • I-255 Outer Road resurfacing (Kinwood and Barracksview)- Resurfacing of the roadway. This project is scheduled to begin in summer 2009.
  • MO 141 and I-44 commuter lot expansion. This project is scheduled to begin summer 2009.
  • I-55 from 4500 South Broadway to Lindbergh (St. Louis County) - Replacement of the Union Road bridges over I-55, bridge rehab on Holly Hills and Delors bridges and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) upgrade of the Bowen pedestrian bridge. This project is scheduled to begin in late summer 2009.
  • MO 30 and MO 21 (St. Louis County) -This project includes the widening of MO 30 for dual northbound left turns onto MO 21, and addition of a right lane for eastbound MO 30. This project is scheduled to begin in late winter 2009.
  • Route 21 bridge over Meramec River (Jefferson County) - Asphalt bridge deck. Anticipated notice to proceed summer 2009.
  • Route 30 bridge over Heads Creek (Jefferson County)- Rehab westbound lanes of bridge. This project is scheduled to begin in winter 2009.
  • Route MM from Buckeye Valley to Geerdes Road. (Jefferson County) This project will straighten the curves and the road will be widened to include a shoulder and 4 turn lanes. This project is scheduled to begin in spring 2009.
  • MO 231 from Christopher to north of Meramec River ( St. Louis County)- This project will resurface the roadway. This project is schedule to begin in Spring 2009.
  • I-44 Shoulder repair various locations from I- 270 to MO 109 (St. Louis County)- This project will repair the shoulder in various location along Interstate 44 in the area between Interstate 270 and Route 109. This project is scheduled to begin in Fall 2009.
  • MO 141 and Centurion (St. Louis County)- This project will install a northbound right turn lane at Centurion and provide a message board on Northbound MO 141 at Bowles to alert drivers of roadway incidents. This project is scheduled to begin in Fall 2009.
  • I- 44 Outer Roads ( North and South) from Route 141 to Yarnell Road (St. Louis County)- This project is the resurfacing of the Outer Roads. This project is scheduled to begin in Summer 2009.

 

CURRENT PROJECTS:

  • Route 61/67 at Richardson (Jefferson County) – Intersection improvements. These improvements include a northbound dual left turn lane and an eastbound dual right turn.  Construction is underway and will be complete late October 2008.
  • MO 30 at Gravois Creek ( St. Louis County). This project will replace the bridge at Gravois Creek near Grants Farm. The bridge will include eastbound and westbound turn lanes for Grant/ McNary Roads. This project will be completed in late 2009.
  • I-55 bridge over Meramec (St. Louis County) - Bridge painting. This project is currently under construction.
  • Route 30 Signal interconnect from MO 141 to Route B (St. Louis County) - Signal interconnection along Highway 30 from Route 141 to Route B. This project began in November 2007 and is expected to be completed winter 2008.
  • MO 30, MO 231, MO 267 and MO 366 signal interconnect (St. Louis County) - Interconnect signals along MO 231, MO 267, MO 366. This project began in November 2007 and is expected to be completed winter 2008.
  • MO 30 and MO 21 (St. Louis County) - Interconnect signals along Highway 30 from Rahning to River Des Peres and along Highway 21 from Lindbergh to Route 30. Construction to begin in November 2007 and is expected to be complete winter 2008.

 

COMPLETED PROJECTS:

  • Route 30 at Geyer/Sappington Barracks (St. Louis County)- Install signal at Route 30 and Geyer Road to provide a safer access and reduce accidents at this intersection.  Construction began September 2008 and this project was completed December 2008.
  • Route 30 and Little Brennan (Jefferson County) – Intersection improvements to relieve congestion.  This project includes dual left turn lanes on eastbound and westbound Highway 30 and a southbound right turn lane. This project has been completed.
  • MO 21 from Meramec River to Route 141 from Route 30 to the Jefferson County line (St. Louis County)- Asphalt surfacing. This project has been completed.
  • Highway 141 landslide (St. Louis County)- Addresses a landslide issue. This project has been completed.
  • I-55 at Reavis Barracks Road (St. Louis County) - Interchange improvements widening the north ramp providing a left, left/right and right turn lane. Construction was completed September 2008.
  • I-55 West Outer Road over Rock Creek (Jefferson County)- Bridge replacement over Rock Creek near Seckman Road on the I-55 West Outer Road. Bridge construction was completed September 2008. Minor work will continue in this area with occasional lane closures.
  • I-44 from I-270 to Williams Creek (St. Louis County) - Pavement repair. Construction was completed in November 2008.
