Route 30 (Gravois) and Route 21 (Tesson Ferry) Improvement Project

UPDATE: November 16, 2009
J.M. Marschuetz, the contractor, will hold a pre-construction meeting in December 2009. A detailed construction schedule will be finalized at that time. Currently, utility relocation is underway.
What is the problem with this intersection?
The intersection of Gravois Road (Route 30) at Tesson Ferry (Route 21) currently faces traffic delays and congestion. Due to the congestion and long delays, air quality is also impacted.
What is the proposed solution?
MoDOT is proposing to add a dual westbound left turn lane on Gravois Road (Route 30) to southbound Tesson Ferry Road (Route 21), a dual northbound left turn lane on Tesson Ferry (Route 21) to westbound Gravois Road (Route 30) and add a right turn lane from eastbound Gravois Road (Route 30) to southbound Tesson Ferry Road (Route 21). These improvements will reduce the delays at the intersection.
Where does the project stand today?
MoDOT will be prepared to proceed with right of way acquisition as early as fall 2008. MoDOT is moving forward with design work so that construction can begin as early as winter 2009.
How much will construction cost?
The estimated cost to improve this intersection is approximately $2.2 million dollars.
