MoDOT/Southwest Road Report for Tuesday, May 26

(Weather and/or work scheduling conflicts could postpone the work)

No road work is scheduled for the busy Memorial Day holiday travel weekend. Some work zones will remain in place in areas and speed limits may be reduced. However, no workers are scheduled to be on the job after 12 p.m. on Friday, unless a highway emergency arises.

Construction and maintenance work will begin after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26

 

RATE OUR WORK ZONES

Barry County

  • Route 90: One-lane traffic in areas between Route NN east of the McDonald/Barry county line and Route 37 in Washburn. Sealing pavement.
  • Route A: One-lane traffic in areas between Wheaton and Stella. Shoulder work and resurfacing.

Barton County

  • No traffic impacts

Bates County 

  • Route 18: One-lane traffic in areas between Merwin and Drexel. Patching.

 

  • Route 52: One-lane traffic in areas between Butler and Amoret. Patching.

 

  • Route 52: One-lane traffic in areas between Butler and Appleton City. Shoulder work and resurfacing.

 

  • Route H: ROAD CLOSED over Mound Branch east of Butler. New Bridge. Use alternate routes. (Completion: August 2015)

 

  • Route H: One-lane traffic in areas between Route VV east of Butler and Henry County Route K west of Montrose. Patching.
  • I-49: Lane closings in areas between Rich Hill and Nevada. Mile Markers 120-102. Resurfacing and installing guardrail.
  • Route V: One-lane traffic in areas south of Route 52 east of Amoret. Patching.

Benton County  

  • No traffic impacts

Cedar County 

  • No traffic impacts

Christian County

  • Route 65: NIGHT WORK - One northbound lane closed north of Ozark. Mile Marker 39. Repairing guardrail. Work begins after 8 p.m.
  • Route NN: NIGHT WORK - One-lane traffic in areas between Route J and Route 14 (Jackson Street) in Ozark. Resurfacing. Work hours: 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Dade County

  • No traffic impacts

Dallas County

  • Route 32: ROAD CLOSED over Four Mile Creek near Long Lane. New Bridge. Detour: Dallas County Routes P and K. (Completion: August 2015)

     

  • Route 65: One northbound lane closed in areas between a point south of the Pomme de Terre River bridge and Route AA north of Fair Grove. Shoulder work.

 

  • Route C: One-lane traffic in areas between Lindley Creek bridge and Mathis Road west of Route 65 north of Buffalo. Shoulder work.

 

  • Routes V and JJ: One-lane traffic in areas south of Route 32 east of Buffalo. Laying long patches.

 

  • Route W: One-lane traffic in areas between Route M east of Charity and Route Y north of Marshfield. Patching.

 

  • Route MM: One-lane traffic between Indian Creek Loop and Hackler Ford Terrace west of Route K near Plad. Shoulder work.

Greene County

  • I-44: NIGHT WORK - One westbound lane closed near Strafford. Mile Marker 85. Repairing guardrail. Work begins after 3 a.m.

 

  • Route 13 (Kansas Expressway): NIGHT WORK - Right turns only at Route 744 (Kearney Street) and Kansas Expressway in Springfield. Major pavement repairs. Work hours: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday-Thursday.

 

  • Route 13 (Kansas Expressway): Lane closings and slow-moving train of work trucks in areas between Mount Vernon and Route 60 in Springfield. Filling potholes.

 

  • Route 65: NIGHT WORK - One northbound lane closed south of I-44 in Springfield. Mile Marker 54. Repairing guardrail. Work begins after 10 p.m.
  • Route 65: NIGHT WORK - One southbound lane closed south of Route 60 in Springfield. Mile Marker 45. Repairing guardrail. Work begins after 11 p.m.
  • Routes 125 and H: Slow-moving (8-12 mph) train of work trucks in Greene County. Striping. Be alert for flashing arrows on trucks. Slow down. Do not drive wet paint. Pass only when safe or wait until striping vehicles pull out of the way.
  • Route 65: One northbound lane closed in areas between a point south of the Pomme de Terre River bridge and Route AA south of Foose. Shoulder work.
  • Route 13 (Kansas Expressway) Pavement Rebuild Project in Springfield:

One northbound and southbound lane CLOSED ‘round the clock between Chestnut Expressway and Water Street Street

TRAFFIC CONGESTION can be expected

TURN LANE CLOSED: southbound Kansas Expressway to eastbound Mount Vernon

Completion: September 2015

  • Battlefield Road/Route 65 Diverging Diamond Interchange in Springfield:

NIGHT WORK: Southbound on ramp from Battlefield Road to Route 65 CLOSED. Work hours: 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Ramp open during daytime hours.

Both northbound and southbound Route 65 traffic shifted AWAY from median. Lane shifts will remain in place until late August.

TRAFFIC CONGESTION on Battlefield Road at Route 65. One lane open in each direction in diverging diamond traffic pattern.

Route 65 speed limit reduced to 50 mph at Battlefield Road

  • Route 125 Railroad Bridge Project East of Springfield:

    Route 125 CLOSED between Route D and Farm Road 164 until late October

    Completion: November 2015

Henry County 

  • Route 18: ROAD CLOSED over Camp Branch west of Clinton. New bridge. Use alternate routes. (Completion: August 2015)

     

  • Route H: One-lane traffic in areas between Route K west of Montrose and Bates County Route VV east of Butler. Patching.

 

  • Route N: One-lane traffic and traffic stops up to 20 minutes in areas between Route B and the Henry/Cass county line west of Blairstown. Sealing road with mixture of rock and oil.

Hickory County 

  • No traffic impacts

Jasper County

  • I-44/I-49 and Prigmor Avenue New “Crossroads” Interchange Project Near Joplin:

ROAD CLOSED: 20th Street at Prigmor Avenue CLOSED for the duration of the project.

One eastbound and one westbound lane of I-44/I-49 CLOSED at Prigmor Avenue. Work hours: 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Tuesday-Thursday.

Prigmor Avenue (County Road 190) bridge CLOSED over I-44/I-49 until fall

Apple Road CLOSED at Prigmor Avenue (County Road 190) for duration of the project. Drivers can use County Roads 170 and 180 to access Apple Road.

Narrowed lanes on I-44/I-49 for the duration of the project.

At least one lane of traffic open in each direction on I-44/I-49.

Completion: November 2015

 

Lawrence County

  • Route O: One-lane traffic over Turnback Creek south of Halltown. Bridge work.

McDonald County

  • No traffic impacts

 

Newton County

  • Business 60: One-lane traffic in areas between Route 60 and the Hickory Creek bridge in Neosho. Resurfacing.
  • Route 43: One-lane traffic and traffic stops up to 20 minutes in areas between I-44 near Joplin and Route 60 near Seneca. Sealing road with mixture of rock and oil.
  • Route A: One-lane traffic in areas between Stella and Wheaton. Shoulder work and resurfacing.
  •  Route D: One-lane traffic in areas between Route 59 and Doniphan Drive in Neosho. Shoulder work and resurfacing.

  • Route HH: One-lane traffic in areas between Routes 60/59 near Neosho and Route 86 in Fairview. Shoulder work and resurfacing.

Polk County

  • Route EE: One-lane traffic near 220th Road west of Foose. Shoulder work.

St. Clair County  

  • Route H: ROAD CLOSED over Clear Creek south of Taberville. Bridge deck replacement. Use alternate routes. (Completion: July 2015)

     

  • Route T: ROAD CLOSED between SE 3025 and SE 400 Roads east of Gerster. Installing a drain pipe. Work hours: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

Stone County

  • Routes A, BB and CC: Slow-moving (8-12 mph) train of work trucks in Stone County. Striping. Be alert for flashing arrows on trucks. Slow down. Do not drive wet paint. Pass only when safe or wait until striping vehicles pull out of the way.
  • Routes 248/265/413: One-lane traffic over Railey Creek near Galena. Bridge work.

Taney County 

  • Routes 125 and U: One-lane traffic in areas near Protem. Patching.

     

Vernon County 

  • Route AA: One-lane traffic and traffic stops up to 20 minutes in areas between Route M near Schell City and Route 54 near Dederick. Sealing road with mixture of rock and oil.
  • I-49: Lane closings in areas between Nevada and Rich Hill. Mile Markers 102-120. Resurfacing.

Webster County

  • Route W: One-lane traffic in areas between Route Y north of Marshfield and Route M east of Charity. Patching.
  • Route 60 Freeway Upgrade in Rogersville:
  • CROSSOVER CLOSED PERMANENTLY: Greene County Farm Road 253 crossover in the Route 60 median in Rogersville CLOSED.

    TRAFFIC SHIFT: Route 60 traffic shifted to future ramps at Routes B/VV until September. TRAFFIC CONGESTION is expected at Route 60 and Routes B/VV at times, especially during morning and afternoon rush hours.

    Lane closings on Route 60 in areas throughout the week during lower traffic volume times. Traffic congestion possible when lanes are closed.

    Speed limit on Route 60 reduced to 50 mph during lane closings
