LAWERENCE COUNTY: Work continues tonight, Sunday, October 18, on the I-44/Route 39 interchange as eastbound traffic is routed up and over the Exit 46 ramp as crews remove the old bridge structure.  The work is scheduled overnight, from 9 p.m., Sunday, October 18 through Monday, October 19, 6 a.m.

Traffic was moved onto the new bridge and new northbound lanes of Route 39 on October 16.

APAC-Missouri of Columbia was awarded the $6.3 million contract to replace the bridge with a 5-lane bridge, realign the south outer road and add signals.

The project remains on-schedule, with an estimated completion date of Nov. 25, 2009.
