Bull Shoals Bridge Project Set to Begin Week of Sept. 4;
Public Invited to Attend Information Meeting Sept. 7

Taney County – Work to replace the Route 76 bridge over Bull Shoals Lake east of Forsyth is scheduled to begin the week of September 4, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Area residents are invited to attend an informational meeting on Thursday, September 7, to learn more about the construction timeline and to learn more about plans to build a roundabout at the intersection of Route 76 and Route 160.

The meeting will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on September 7, at the Forsyth High School cafeteria, 178 Panther Street in Forsyth

Those unable to attend the meeting can view displays by visiting an online public meeting at www.modot.org/southwest

The bridge project was originally scheduled to begin in June. However, flooding rains in March/April of this year raised the level of Bull Shoals Lake prohibiting contractor crews from starting the project. In recent weeks, the lake level has dropped allowing crews to begin work.

In conjunction with the bridge project, Taney County and MoDOT are partnering to build a roundabout at the intersection of Route 160 and Route 76 just north of the bridge.  The project is scheduled to be let to a contractor in January 2018 with construction to begin in the spring of 2018.

The roundabout project is scheduled to be completed at the same time as the bridge project in the fall of 2018.
