Night Work Planned for Route 60/413
When Turn Lane Project Begins Between Springfield & Republic

Springfield/Republic, Greene County – Drivers can expect nighttime lane closings on sections of Route 60/413 between Springfield and Republic beginning the week of July 17 when a project to improve turn lanes begins, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Drivers may notice construction signs being installed the week of July 10.  The work will take place away from traffic.

Starting the week of July 17, contractor crews will work Monday through Friday nights between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. There will be lane closings where crews are set up working.

Crews could work Saturday night if they need to make up work due to weather and/or construction delays.

The project will lengthen turn lanes in areas, install new turn lanes in other areas and make improvements to median crossovers between the eastbound and westbound lanes along Route 60/413 between West Bypass (Route 160) in Springfield and Route 174 in Republic.

The project also will make improvements to the Route 60 at Greene County Routes MM/M intersection between Springfield and Republic.  Southbound Route MM will be widened slightly to add a left-turn lane for drivers wanting to make left turns onto Route 60.  The traffic signals at the intersection will be modified to match the new traffic configuration.

The work is aimed at making it safer for drivers to enter and leave Route 60/413 and to make turns off of the roadway to county and state roads.

APAC-Central, Inc. of Fayetteville, Ar. is the prime contractor.

The total project cost is $3 million.

The work is scheduled to be completed by December 15, 2017.
