Jackson Street (Route 14) Widening Project
Focus of Public Meeting in Ozark on June 15

Ozark, Christian County – A project to widen Jackson Street (Route 14) in Ozark will be the focus of a public meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 15, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The public is invited to attend the come-and-go style meeting to learn more about the plans to add lanes to Jackson Street between 16th Street and the Finley River bridge and widen the intersection of Jackson Street/Route NN/10th Street. The project is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2019 and be completed in 2020.

The meeting will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, at the Ozark Community Center, 1530 W. Jackson Street. NO FORMAL PRESENTATION IS PLANNED.

At the in-person meeting, MoDOT representatives will be available to talk with area residents about the impacts of the project and answer questions.

Those unable to attend the in-person meeting can view exhibits and get project timeline information by visiting an online public meeting at www.modot.org/southwest.  The information will be posted on the MoDOT Southwest District’s website by the afternoon of June 15.

The project is partnership between the city of Ozark and MoDOT.

Project highlights:

  • Widen Jackson Street (Route 14) to five lanes between 16th Street and the Finley River bridge
  • Widen intersection of Jackson Street/Route NN/10th Street and relocate 10th Street to become the south leg of the intersection
