Major Roadway/Bridge Repairs Underway
On Route 125/Brushy Creek Bridge South of Bradleyville

Taney County – Drivers can expect Route 125 between Rueter and Bradleyville at Brushy Creek to remain CLOSED for several weeks to allow crews to make major, permanent repairs following flood damage that occurred May 19-20, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

MoDOT crews began the process on Monday, May 22, and expect the repair work to take several weeks to complete.

Crews are installing a new bridge end on the north side of the structure and replacing up to 80 feet of pavement with concrete, also on the north end of the bridge.  The end result will be a much more resilient roadway approaching the north end of the Brushy Creek bridge which should reduce the possibility of severe damage in future flooding events.

In recent years, during extreme rain events, rushing water has removed the same section of Route 125 on the north end of the bridge.  This has occurred on five different occasions over the last six years during historic rains.  However, the water has never caused damage to the bridge itself or the Route 125 pavement south of the bridge.

Drivers are urged to find alternate routes during the project, as Route 125 will remain closed to allow crews to complete the work as safely and quickly as possible.

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
