Route 14 Between Ozark and Sparta
Set for Resurfacing, New Shoulders Starting Week of April 3

Christian County – Drivers can expect lane closings and crews and equipment on Route 14 between Ozark and Sparta starting the week of April 3, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Route 14 between Route W in Ozark and Route 125 in Sparta is scheduled to be resurfaced with a new asphalt driving surface. The project also includes adding two-foot wide shoulders and rumble stripes in areas.

During the week of April 3, crews will do prep work alongside Route 14 to prepare for the resurfacing project.

Drivers can expect one-lane traffic with flaggers directing them through the work zone.  The delays will be minimal.  No work is planned during heavy traffic volume times.

When the resurfacing portion of the project begins during the week of April 10, crews will work at night.

Crews will be on the road between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Friday. They could work Saturday nights to stay on schedule.

Drivers can expect one-lane traffic where crews are set up working. There will be flaggers on the road and pilot vehicles guiding drivers through the work zone.

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.

Journagan Construction of Springfield will do the work for a low bid amount of $723,000.

The work is scheduled to be completed by September 1, 2017.  However, contractor crews expect to have the project completed by the end of April, barring any weather or construction delays.
