Design/Build Team Selected For Major
Route 60 Improvements in Rogersville

Rogersville - The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has selected Ozark Regional Road Constructors (ORRC) to design and build improvements to Route 60 in Rogersville.

Four teams were vying for the opportunity to design and build the project which includes two interchanges - one at Routes B/VV where it intersects with Route 60 and one in the vicinity of Farm Road 253 east of Business 60.

ORRC is a joint venture of engineering and construction firms that have designed the project and will construct it with oversight from MoDOT engineers.

ORRC members are:

  • Radmacher Brothers Excavating Company, Inc. -- Pleasant Hill, MO
  • Reynolds, Smith & Hills, Inc. -- Jacksonville, FL
  • CFS Engineers -- Kansas City, MO with
    • Palmerton & Parrish, Inc. -- Springfield, MO
    • TREKK Design Group, LLC -- Kansas City, MO
    • Hg Consult, Inc. -- Kansas City, MO

Those interested in the design plans for the project can view them on the MoDOT Southwest District website.

Construction of the $27-million project is scheduled to begin in this fall (2014) with completion in December 2016.

MoDOT will host a public meeting in late summer to showcase plans for the project.  The public is invited to attend this meeting.

Anyone interested in the project, or who would like to receive regular e-updates during construction, can visit the project website -- Project Freeway: U.S. 60 Rogersville, which includes information such as project maps and a project timeline.

Projects like the Rogersville Route 60 improvements will not be possible in the future without additional funding for transportation. Money for this project was committed in 2013. The funding for the project came from savings realized from competitive bidding and innovative designs on other road projects. But in the future, MoDOT's reduced funding will only allow for maintenance of the current system, not new projects like this one that will improve safety, create jobs and provide economic development opportunities. This August Missourians will have the opportunity to choose the path of the state's transportation system by voting on Constitutional Amendment 7, which would provide $540 million per year for Missouri's total transportation system.

The Missouri Department of Transportation has coordinated three open house meetings in the Southwest District to ask residents to take a look at the local priorities and share their thoughts and insights. The public is invited to attend the meetings at any time during the advertised hours to speak to regional planning partners and MoDOT representatives. No formal presentations will be made. The public meetings are scheduled for:

  • June 16 - Branson City Hall, 110 W. Maddux St., 4 - 7 pm
  • June 17 - Joplin Chamber of Commerce, 320 E. 4th St., 4 - 7 pm
  • June 18 - Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, 202 S. John Q. Hammons Pkwy, 4:30 - 7 pm

There are multiple open house meetings scheduled in each region of the state. The entire public meeting schedule, the draft transportation improvement list and an online comment form are available after noon on June 13 at www.modot.org/movingforward.
