Henry/Benton Counties -- A project to resurface and add two-foot shoulders to Route 7 between Tightwad and Warsaw is scheduled to begin April 8, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
When the project begins, drivers can expect one-lane traffic where crews are set up working between Henry County Route PP in Tightwad and Route 65 in Warsaw.
The work will take place during daytime hours Monday through Friday.
Weather and/or construction delays may alter the work schedule.
Both driving lanes will be resurfaced and two-foot wide shoulders with rumble stripes will be added to the roadway.
Crews also will install and lengthen some of the drain pipes along the road.
The project also includes resurfacing Benton County Route U north of Cole Camp and a short section of Route 83 in Warsaw.
The contractor on both projects is APAC-Missouri of Columbia, doing the projects for a low bid amount of $4 million.
The projects are scheduled for completion by November 1. However, contractor crews will work to complete the Route 7 project by mid-summer.
The Route U and Route 83 projects will begin later this year.
