Willow Springs, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced that, weather permitting, a resurfacing project will begin on Route 60, Howell County on Nov. 6.
The project encompasses 5.371 miles of thin-lift overlay, from .1 miles east of County Road 1550 to Route NN and is included in the Missouri Department of Transportation, Better Roads, Brighter Future Program. This program targets highways carrying 80 percent of Missouri's travel. The goal of the Better Roads, Brighter Future program is to bring 85 percent of Missouri's major highway system up to good condition by the end of 2011. About 95 percent of all Missourians live within 10 miles of one of these roads.
The contract for this project was awarded to Pace Construction Company, LLC of St. Louis, Mo., at a total cost of $752,880.00 during the September meeting of the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission.
