Willow Springs, Mo. - Contractor crews are scheduled to begin work on a resurfacing project through Waynesville, funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Weather permitting, crews will begin construction on Monday, Oct. 19.
The project encompasses 5.498 miles of coldmill and resurfacing work on the Business Loop on Interstate 44 and a .5 mile section of Route H near Waynesville, Mo.
Milling removes excess material from cracks and joints, decreasing the likelihood of pavement deterioration, while resurfacing will provide a smoother ride for motorists.
This project will require a lane drop. During construction, crews and equipment will be directly on or near the roadway. Flaggers may be present, and motorists may be required to stop. Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling through the area.
The project was awarded to Willard Asphalt Paving, Inc., of Lebanon, Mo., during the June meeting of the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission at a cost of $ 865,645.45.
