Willow Springs, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced the continuation of improvements to the bridge over the Eleven Point River on Route 17 in Howell County. The bridge is included in the MoDOT Safe & Sound bridge improvement program.

The former bridge deck has been replaced and barrier walls have been added to the structure.  Contractor crews will continue work installing guardrails and replacing approach pavements. Work in this area is expected to continue through May 2, 2009. "MoDOT is sensitive to the impact felt by those who travel Route 17", said South Central District Safe & Sound Coordinator Ed Hess.
