Project Summary

This project will replace the Lemon Trail (County Road 211) and Nitrogen Avenue (County Road 225) bridges over Interstate 70. 

The Lemon Trail bridge is located near mile marker 81.6 on I-70 and construction is planned to begin in Dec. 2024 and completed by Aug. 1, 2025 (anticipated). 

The Nitrogen Ave. bridge is located near mile marker 85.8. Construction on the project is estimated to begin in late summer 2025 once the Lemon Trail bridge is completed and open to motorists. The Nitrogen Ave. bridge is anticipated to be completed in 2026.

These bridge replacements are part of a future Improve I-70 project between Odessa and Boonville.

Why is this project happening?

Both the Lemon Trail and Nitrogen Avenue bridges have been hit and are in need of replacement. The new bridges will also be built to accommodate the Improve I-70 project.

What will be the traffic implications?

I-70 will have intermittent lane closures during construction. Crossovers will be used during the demo of the bridges while still maintaining traffic flow on I-70. 

Construction on the Lemon Trail bridge will begin in Dec. 2024 and will be completed in Fall 2025 (anticipated). 

Construction on the Nitrogen Ave. Bridge project is anticipated to begin in Fall 2025.  The Nitrogen Ave. bridge is anticipated to be completed in 2026.

What is the cost and funding?

The project is estimated to cost just under $5.5 million and is being funded through the Improve I-70 program.
