SIKESTON—Route 14 in Douglas County will be closed as contractor crews construct a new roundabout at the intersection of Route 14, Business Route 5, N. Jefferson Street and Bacorn Avenue in Ava, Missouri.
The Route 14/Business Route 5 closure will extend from Lyle Street to Dean Avenue. During this time, changeable message boards and detour signs will be in place.
Weather permitting, work will begin at 6 a.m. on Monday, April 1 with completion anticipated Friday, July 12.
This project will also include drainage and pedestrian improvements in the vicinity of the new roundabout. The roundabout will have designated pedestrian crossings on N. Jefferson Street and Bacorn Avenue.
The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
