DELAYED: Holt County I-29 bridge repair to begin next week

Joint repair planned for southbound bridge over Nodaway River

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The southbound Interstate 29 bridge over the Nodaway River in Holt County will be reduced to one-lane beginning Monday, Sept. 25 for a joint repair project. The project was delayed again due to contractor scheduling. Crews from Capital Paving & Construction, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will begin the joint repair in the right-hand driving lane with traffic narrowed to the left-hand passing lane.

Once the work in the driving lane is complete, crews will close the passing lane and shift traffic. This shift is scheduled to take place in October.

A 11.6-foot width restriction will be in place for southbound traffic. The project is expected to be complete by November.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
