JEFFERSON CITY, MO - The ground hog probably won't even bother sticking his head out today.
Snow, sleet and freezing rain have left many roads in central and southern Missouri covered or partly covered. MoDOT crews worked through the night making progress on most major routes, but more winter weather will continue to slow things down in the southern part of the state.
"We want to strongly encourage caution when traveling," said Beth Wright, MoDOT state maintenance engineer. "Another round of weather coming in will be affecting conditions in the south half of the state until early this evening."
MoDOT crews will continue plowing routes. Another wave of winter weather is expected to hit as early as Monday night and Tuesday.
