MoDOT is taking additional steps to ensure you are aware of the latest construction-related restrictions. We are highlighting in red each day's new information so that you can forward this breaking news to motorists in a timely manner.

Cass County

New Work Today and Updates/Changes

Route YY: Asphalt overlay will close various lanes of the Route YY between Routes Y and C from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday, Nov 6-9.

Route 71: Asphalt overlay will close various lanes of the Route 71 west Outer Road just south of Route YY from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday, Nov 7-11.

Route 71: Ramp reconstruction will close the on ramp at southbound 163rd Street to Route 71 and the off ramp from northbound Route 71 to 163rd Street through late November 2009.

Clay County

New Work Today and Updates/Changes

Route 69: Overlay will close a lane of north and southbound Route 69 between Clay County Line and Route 92 from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Nov 7-9.

Route 33: Utility work will close the right lane of northbound Route 33 at Meadowbrook from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov 9.

Route 1: Sidewalk improvements will close the right lane of north and southbound Route 1 between Northeast 60th St. and Vivion Road from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Nov. 20.

Route 169: Sidewalk improvements will close the right lane of southbound Route 169 between Route KK and Route DD in Smithville from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays through Nov. 20.

Route 169: Sidewalk improvements will close the right lane of northbound Route 169 between Route 92 and Route DD in Smithville from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays through Nov. 20.

I-35: Bridge work will close the right lane of southbound I-35 between 16th and 14th Street from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9.

Armour Road: Median work will close the left lane of eastbound Armour Road between Ozark and Saline from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Monday, Nov. 6 & 9.

Route 210: Pavement repairs will close various lanes of east and westbound Route 210 between I-435 and Arlington from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov 5-10.

Route 69: Resurfacing will close a lane of north and southbound Route 69 in various locations between Route 92 and Route PP from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov 8-17.

I-435: Striping at night will close a lane of north and southbound I-435 in various locations between Route 69 and The Missouri River Bridge from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. through November 7.

Route 169: Pavement widening and resurfacing will restrict traffic on Route 169 at the northbound I-29 ramp to Englewood Road through Dec. 15.

Route 52: Utility work will restrict traffic on Route 52 between Route F and Route A from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. through mid-December.

I-35: Trucking access will close the lft lane of northbound I-35 between Front St and 16th St from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, Nov 9-13.

I-35: Bridgework will close the right lane of southbound I-35 between 16th St and 14th St. from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9.

I-35: Sound wall construction will close the right lane of southbound I-35 between Front Street and Route 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9.

I-435: Bridge inspection will restrict traffic on northbound and southbound I-435 between Front Street and Route 210 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 9-10.

I-70: Bridge maintenance will close the two left lanes of westbound I-70 between 27th and Brooklyn on November 7.

I-70: Shoulder work will close a lane of east and westbound I-70 between Route 40 and Noland road from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov 5-9.

I-470: Median crossover removal will close the right lane of northbound I-470 between Woods Chapel and Colbern Road from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Nov 2-7.

I-470: Median/Shoulder work will close at night the left lane of eastbound I-470 between Colbern and Woods Chapel 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Nov 2-7.

I-435: Pavement striping at night will restrict traffic on northbound and southbound I-435 between Route 24 and Route 210 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly through November 20.

Route F: Shoulder work will close a lane of Route F in various locations between 12th Street and 5th Street from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. through November 15.

Route BB: Resurfacing will close a lane of north and southbound Route BB in various locations between I-70 and Route 24 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through December 1.

Route N: Bridge maintenance will close two lanes of Route N between Route D and Route 92 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov 9.

 Route K: New pavement construction will close various lanes of Route K at Route 45 Spur from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 9. 

Route 45: Striping and preparation for opening of a new roundabout will restrict traffic at Route 45 and Route K intersection from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9. Traffic may be delayed up to 15 minutes at times. Motorists should consider alternate routes.

Route N: Bridge maintenance will close a lane of Route N in each direction between Route 92 and Route D from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on November 9.

I-435: Pavement repair will close two lanes of northbound I-435 between Cookingham Dr and Route 71 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through November 25.

Route 45: Shoulder work will close a lane of north and southbound Route 45 between Route I-435 and Route JJ from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Nov. 16.

Route 273: Paving operations will close various lanes of Route 273 between Route 45 and I-29 and 92 Spur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Tuesday, Dec 1.

Long-Term Closures

Clay County

I-29/35: Drainage and bridgework has closed the off-ramp from northbound I-29/35 to Bedford Avenue for two years. Motorists should continue north to 16th Ave. and re-enter Interstate 29/35 going south to the Levee Road exit to access the Paseo Industrial District.

I-35: Bridgework will reduce Front Street at I-35 in each direction through September 2010.

I-29/35: Bridge construction will close the southbound I-29/35 ramp to westbound Armour Road and the ramp from westbound Armour Road to southbound I-29/35 for at least one year.

Jackson County

I-35: News ramp construction will close until June 2010 the southbound I-35 ramp to Paseo Boulevard.

I-35: Lane reconfiguration has closed the ramp from north Paseo to northbound I-35 through July 2010.

I-470/Route 50: Bridge construction has narrowed lanes through the interchange, and will close lanes in either direction during non-peak hours.

Route 71: Bridge and pavement removal has closed the ramp from southbound Route 71 to Route 150. Traffic exiting southbound Route 71 at Route 150 must use alternatives: Either the 140th Street ramp to the west outer road; or proceeding south on Route 71 to 155th Street, then east on 155th over the highway to the northbound Route 71 outer road (or east outer road) and back north to Route 150. The closure will continue for about one more month.

Route 71: The ramp from Route 150 to northbound Route 71 has closed and will remain closed until spring 2010. Motorists are urged to use White Avenue to the east outer road to the ramp north of 140th Street to access northbound Route 71.

Route 71: Route 71 has switched to two-way, head-to-head traffic near Route 150. Both northbound and southbound Route 71 between just south of 140th Street and just north of 155th Street are now two lanes in each direction (a reduction from three lanes) divided by a concrete barrier, to accommodate bridge replacement at Route 150. The temporary arrangement will last through spring 2010.

Johnson County

Route 50: New pavement construction will restrict traffic on eastbound and westbound Route 50 at Business 50 through December 1.

Route 50: New interchange construction will shift eastbound and westbound Route 50 east of Warrensburg to two-lane, head-to-head traffic through the end of 2009.
