PLATTE COUNTY - The Route 92 Bridge spanning the BNSF Railroad and Route 45, commonly referred to as the Beverly Bridge, is finished and will reopen to traffic by the end of day on Friday, Dec. 13, following complete bridge replacement.
The original 70-year-old structure closed July 8, was removed and replaced with a new bridge that includes two 12-foot driving lanes and 4-foot paved shoulders. The bridge opens one week ahead of schedule just five months after construction began.
Route 92 is a critical roadway for traffic traveling from northwestern Missouri to the Leavenworth area and carries more than 9,300 drivers each day. This $3.5 million bridge replacement was completed by APAC, Mo.
