KANSAS CITY - Eastbound and westbound I-70 at Manchester Bridge will be down to one lane in each direction from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, for bridge deck repair.
The work precedes a $63.8 million design-build contract to replace the I-70 Manchester Bridge with two new bridges that will span Manchester Trafficway, the Blue River and several railroad tracks with four lanes in both directions. The design-build team of Clarkson/HNTB will keep all mainline lanes of I-70 open during peak weekday periods to minimize construction-related congestion. The project is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2015.
