Northbound I-435 Ramp to Southbound I-35 (Exit 52B) Closes for July 27 Bridge Rehabilitation
Closure follows opening of northbound I-35 to southbound I-435 by the end of day on Friday
KANSAS CITY - Bridge rehabilitation will close both the northbound I-435 ramp to southbound I-35 (Exit 52B) and US 69 exit to southbound I-35 from Friday, July 26 until the end of August for bridge rehabilitation. All work is weather dependent.
This work follows the reopening of northbound I-35 to southbound I-435, scheduled to open that same day, earlier than the original July 27 completion date. A signed detour will be in place.
Traffic will detour using northbound I-435 to Shoal Creek Parkway exit and turn around at the interchange onto southbound I-435 to southbound I-35.
This is one of several bridge rehabilitation projects this construction season in the Claycomo area. All work in the area is scheduled to be complete by November. To see the full list of these bridge projects visit http://www.modot.org/kansascity/major_projects/NorthlandBridges.htm.
This $4.2 million project was awarded to Comanche Construction, Inc. and will significantly improve the life of each structure. With more than 10,400 bridges on the Missouri state highway system - 7th largest in the nation - one of MoDOT's priorities is to keep its bridges safe and in good condition.
