KANSAS CITY - Bridge rehabilitation will close the southbound I-35 ramp to southbound I-435 (Exit 12A) beginning 9 a.m. fFriday, July 5 until 5 a.m. Friday, July 19 to allow the Missouri Department of Transportation to conduct bridge rehabilitation. All work is weather dependent. A signed detour will be in place.
Traffic on southbound I-35 will use southbound US 69 (exit 14) at the I-35/US69 and Pleasant Valley Road Interchange, to southbound I-435. Motorists should allow extra time when traveling this direction.
This is one of several bridge rehabilitations this construction season to prolong the life of structures in the Claycomo area. All work in the area will be done by November. To see the full list of these bridge projects visit http://www.modot.org/kansascity/major_projects/NorthlandBridges.htm.
All work is weather dependent. This $4.2 million project was awarded to Comanche Construction, Inc. and will significantly improve the life of each structure. With more than 10,400 bridges on the Missouri state highway system - 7th largest total nationwide, one of MoDOT's priorities is to keep its bridges safe and in good condition.
