Route 50/350 Under I-470 Bridge to Close Friday Night Through Early Monday, July 12-15
LEE'S SUMMIT - Bridge deck replacement on the westbound I-470 bridge over Route 350 will restrict the highway to two narrow lanes for the next few weeks, beginning July 11.
Westbound I-470 lane closures from 7 p.m. Thursday, July 11, to 5 a.m. Friday, July 12, will allow for shoulder reinforcement and setting traffic barrier to protect workers.
Weekend Bridge Deck Removal
Route 50/350 beneath westbound I-470 will close beginning 10 p.m. Friday, July 12, through 5 a.m. Monday, July 15, so that workers can safely remove the bridge deck and debris over the highway. Eastbound Route 50/350 will detour to westbound I-470 to View High Drive to eastbound I-470, then back to eastbound Route 50/350. Westbound Route 50/350 will detour to eastbound I-470 to Strother Road, then to westbound I-470 and back to westbound Route 50/350.
Ongoing Bridge Deck Replacement
Beginning July 12, the two through lanes of the westbound I-470 bridge over Route 50/350 will be narrowed and shifted to the right to allow crews to redeck half the bridge at a time behind protective barriers. Two through lanes will be maintained during daytime hours and peak traffic periods. At night, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., westbound I-470 may be down to one lane at times to accommodate repairs and replacement of the bridge deck.
The ramp from westbound I-470 to eastbound Route 50/350 and the ramp from westbound Route 50/350 to westbound I-470 will be closed from July 11 through September 15. Westbound Route 50/350 traffic will detour to Colbern Road, to eastbound Route 50/350, then back to westbound I-470.
Westbound I-470 traffic to eastbound Route 50/350 will detour to View High Drive, to eastbound I-470 and then back to eastbound Route 50/350.
