LEE'S SUMMIT - Construction will begin late this spring on bridge projects near Downtown, near Claycomo, at I-470 and Route 350, and at Grandview Road over Bannister Road following this week's action by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission.
The commission awarded a $5,098,608 contract to Comanche Construction, Inc. of Olathe for rehabilitation of bridges on I-35 near the Downtown Loop and other areas. The projects are part of several that will replace bridge decks and improve bridges around the Downtown area.
Other projects in the Kansas City District approved by the commission Wednesday include:
•· $4,279,951 to Comanche Construction, Inc. for rehabilitation of 14 bridges and improvements at Route 69, I-435 and I-35 near Claycomo in Clay County
•· $2,996,235 to Phillips Grading & Construction, Inc. of Booneville, Mo., for replacing the Grandview Road Bridge over Bannister Road (Route W) in Jackson County
•· $2,376,661 to L.G. Barcus and Sons Inc. to redeck a bridge at I-470 and Route 350 in Lee's Summit in Jackson County
•· $5,548,626 to Ideker, Inc. for paving, grading, drainage, widening to four lanes and ADA improvements to Route 92 in Kearney in Clay County
•· $2,916,169 to Ideker, Inc. for paving and adding shoulders to a segment of Route 273 in Platte and Clay counties
•· $708,565 to Ground Breaking Excavation & Utilities, LLC of Pleasant Hill, Mo., for grading, paving and drainage improvements to widen the off ramp to two full lanes from southbound I-49 to Route 58 in Belton.
