MoDOT will widen Route F to four lanes with a turn lane creating a 5-lane section of roadway between 13th and 31st Streets south of I-70. Construction continues through 2014. For more information, follow this project on Twitter or Facebook.

Why is MoDOT doing this project?

Route F is currently an older, 2 lane rural highway within the city limits. As Oak Grove continues to grow and develop, the roadway has become obsolete. Improvements will greatly increase the capacity and longevitiy of this important artery through the main business district.

What is MoDOT doing?

MoDOT will widen Route F to four lanes with a turn lane creating a 5-lane section of roadway between 13th and 31st Streets south of I-70.

In addition, the road between 27th and 31st Streets will be reconstructed to improve sight distance and straighten curves. Curb, gutter and sidewalks have also been included in the improvements.

What is the project timeline?

Construction began in spring 2013 and is expected to last two years, finishing in winter 2014.

What impact will this have on my drive?
During construction, at least one lane of Route F will remain open. Motorists are encouraged to drive through the work zone safely, paying close attention to the posted speed limits and closure signs.

How is this project funded?

This is a $10 million dollar project, The Missouri Department of Transportation will contribute $4.5 million to the project through the innovative finance program. The remaining funds will be contributed by the City of Oak Grove.
