Two projects to improve Route 13 east of Lexington and around Warrensburg have started.
The Warrensburg "East Loop" project in Johnson County, and the Lexington “Gap” project in Lafayette County to relocate Route 13 south of Route 24 near Lexington are both to be constructed as two-lane roadways to best use available transportation funds.
State and local officials open the westbound Route 50 bridge over the new Route 13 corridor east of town on Monday, Nov. 9. The event marks a halfway point in construction of the new 7-mile-long segment of the Route 13 East Loop, which is expected to open late next year.
