WHAT IS THIS PROJECT?
MoDOT Kansas City has replaced the Crysler, Pittman, and Phelps bridges over Interstate 70. The age and condition of these bridges required full replacements so that they could continue to serve the public for many years to come.
The Pittman Rd. bridge over I-70 was originally built in 1962 and replaced again in 1972. After 46 years of use, the Pittman Rd. bridge has been fully replaced.
The Crysler Ave. bridge over I-70 was originally built in 1962 and was fully replaced in 2018 after 56 years of use.
The Phelps Rd. bridge over I-70 was originally constructed in 1963 and then rebuilt in 1970. After 48 years of use, it has been fully replaced.
Each of the bridges have been completed as of Dec. 18, 2018.
