2010-2014 Statewide Highway & Bridge Construction Schedule

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the week of March 22– 26, 2010.  Weather conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule. Other construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will include lane closures and delays can be expected.

MoDOT reminds the public to buckle up, slow down, follow posted signing and drive safely through work areas. Benton County

Daylight Hours

Route 65 over the Lake of the Ozarks, just north of Route 83 in Warsaw – Bridge deck repair continues. Temporary traffic lights are set up in the work area to assist with traffic control. Completion of the project is scheduled for summer 2010.

Route 83 at the Big Pomme Bridge over the Truman Reservoir – Bridge deck repair continues. Temporary traffic lights are set up in the work area to assist with traffic control. Completion of the project is scheduled for summer 2010.

Route 7 over the Osage Arm of the Truman Reservoir, located east of Route KK and

Route 7 over the Osage Arm of the Truman Reservoir, located between Routes PP and UU - Bridge deck repairs continue. Temporary traffic lights are set up in each work area to assist with traffic control. Completion of these projects is scheduled for summer 2010.

Route 65, 1.75 miles south of Route HH to north of Route H in Lincoln – Grading and drainage work to widen the highway to five lanes continues.  Lanes have been narrowed to 10 feet.  One lane may be closed during the work and crews will flag traffic through the work area.  The entire project is scheduled to be complete in fall 2010.

Boone County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 124 at the Perche Creek Bridge near Route NN – Bridge deck replacement continues through late April.  The bridge is closed to traffic during construction.  Traffic on Route 124 will be detoured around the area on Routes 124, 63, and NN.  This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Route 63 between the Randolph County line and Route 94 – Roadway striping in the northbound lanes will begin Wednesday, March 24 and continue through mid April.  This is a moving operation and motorists should drive with care through the area.

Camden County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 between Mace Road near the Camden/Miller County line and the Grand Glaize Bridge in Osage Beach – Grading, paving and new bridge construction. 

   * Bridge work continues in the Mace Road area.

   * Eastbound traffic has been switched onto the existing westbound bridge on Route 54 between Route 42 and Bluff Road with two 10-foot lanes in each direction.  This traffic configuration will remain in place through Memorial Day weekend 2010.

   * Route 54 traffic has been shifted to a new bypass on the east end of the project near Mace Road to allow for new bridge construction.  The bypass has a 30 MPH speed limit and will be in place through Memorial Day weekend 2010.

The entire project is scheduled to be complete by August 2010.

Route 54 between the Grand Glaize Bridge to west of Route KK in Osage Beach – Grading, drainage work, paving and bridges for the new Route 54 Expressway.

    * Girder placement nearing completion for the new Case Road bridge. Motorists could begin using the bridge and new Case Road by Memorial Day weekend.

    * Grading work continues from the Grand Glaize Bridge to Forrester Road.

    * Grading continues from Nichols Road to Normandy Road.

No traffic delays are expected at this time.  This portion of the project is scheduled for completion in summer 2011.

Route 54 at the Grand Glaize Bridge in Osage Beach – Repairs will be made in the eastbound lanes to bridge pier lights on Thursday, March 25.  The work will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. One eastbound lane will be open to traffic through the work area.

Route 54 between Christy Drive in Jefferson City and the Camdenton city limits – Roadway striping in the westbound lanes will begin Wednesday, March 24 and continue through mid April.  This is a moving operation and motorists should drive with care through the area.

Route 5, one mile north of Route F to Route F in Sunrise Beach – Widening of lanes and new center turn lane continues.  Driveway entrances will be replaced as weather allows.  Minor traffic delays can be expected and crews will flag traffic through the work area.  This project is scheduled to be complete in late spring 2010.

Route 5 from Old Route 5 to south of Route P in Laclede County – Grading for a shared four-lane highway.

   * Excavation, erosion control and drainage work is near completion from Spencer Creek area to the south end of the project for the new Spencer Creek Road.

This portion of the project is expected to be complete by early spring 2010. Traffic on Route 5 is not affected at this time.

Cole County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 from the Missouri River Bridge to Ellis Boulevard in Jefferson City – Roadway maintenance will take place in the eastbound and westbound lanes Monday, March 22 through Friday, April 2.  One lane in each direction will be open to traffic through the work area.

Route D at the Moreau River Bridge, east of Kroll Road – Bridge maintenance will continue through Thursday, March 25.  One lane will be open during the work and crews will flag traffic through the work area, although the bridge may close during the work for short periods of time.

Route 54 between Christy Drive in Jefferson City and the Camdenton city limits – Roadway striping in the westbound lanes will begin Wednesday, March 24 and continue through mid April.  This is a moving operation and motorists should drive with care through the area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 50, Missouri Boulevard and Route 179 interchange improvements – Realigning Missouri Boulevard at the U.S. Route 50 and Route 179 interchange in Jefferson City. Plans include constructing additional turn lanes at various locations within the interchange area.

   * Lane reductions and temporary closures can be expected on Route 179 between Missouri Boulevard and Country Club Drive, including all ramps at the Route 50/Route 179 interchange.

This project is expected to be complete in fall 2010.

Overnight Hours

Routes 50/54/63 tri-level in Jefferson City – Surface repair will continue through Thursday, April 1.  All ramps on the middle level will be closed to traffic from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Thursday.  Message boards will be posted to inform motorists of the ramp closures and to use Business Route 50 (Missouri Blvd.) as an alternate route.

Cooper County

Daylight Hours

Interstate 70 between Route Z and Route J in Saline County – Roadside and shoulder work will take place in the eastbound lanes Monday, March 22 through Thursday, March 25.  One eastbound lane will be open to traffic through the work area.

Interstate 70 at miler marker 100 – Roadway maintenance in the westbound lanes will take place Wednesday, March 24 through Friday, March 26.  One westbound lane will be open to traffic through the work area.

Interstate 70 at miler marker 108 – Roadway maintenance in the eastbound lanes will take place Wednesday, March 24 through Friday, March 26.  One eastbound lane will be open to traffic through the work area.

Route 87 between Interstate 70 and Route B  – Roadway preparation and resurfacing will begin on Monday, March 22 and continue through June.  The I-70 ramps to and from Route 87 will remain open during the work, but will be narrowed.  One lane of Route 87 will be open during the work and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 5 at Interstate 70 in Boonville – Roadway maintenance will continue through Wednesday, March 24.  One lane will be open during the work and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Miller County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 between the Osage River Bridge in Lake Ozark and Mace Road near the Camden/Miller County line in Osage Beach – Grading and drainage work for the new Route 54 Expressway has been completed.  The contractor will prepare the surface for roadway paving.  No traffic delays expected.

Route 54 between Christy Drive in Jefferson City and the Camdenton city limits – Roadway striping in the westbound lanes will begin Wednesday, March 24 and continue through mid April.  This is a moving operation and motorists should drive with care through the area.

Route 17 at the Osage River Bridge – Bridge replacement continues.  Traffic on the current bridge is not affected.  This project is expected to be complete in fall 2010.

Route 17 at the Saline Creek Bridge, approximately 3.5 miles northeast of the Osage River Bridge at Tuscumbia – Rock and soil sample drilling will take place Monday, March 22 through Friday, March 26. The bridge will be closed to traffic during the work.  Motorists will be detoured around the work area.

Moniteau County

Daylight Hours

Route 50 east of Route E to Route K – Grading and paving work for new four-lane highway.

   * Traffic on existing Route 50 west of California has been diverted to a new connection. The connection will remain in place until the project is complete. No traffic delays can be expected.

   * The contractor is scheduled to resume work on Monday, March 29, weather permitting.

This project is scheduled to be complete in fall 2010.

Route 87 between Route 50 and Brush Creek Road in California – Roadway maintenance will take place on Tuesday, March 23 through Thursday, March 25.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 765 between Main Street and Route 65 in Sedalia – Roadway maintenance will take place on Thursday, March 25 and Friday, March 26. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
